Douglas “Duke” Jamil Rahbany

Douglas Jamil “Duke” Rahbany died Saturday, Nov. 11 in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born April 24, 1960, in Lake Charles, La. to Raji S .“Roger” and Leona Shirley (Comeaux) Rahbany.
Duke lived all his life in Lake Charles, La. He attended Oak Park Elementary and Oak Park Junior High School before moving on and graduating from Lake Charles High School in 1978.
Duke was an avid car enthusiast. He loved all types of models and loved purchasing used cars for dealers.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Leona Shirley Rahbany; sister, Sheila (Doug) Schultz and brother, David (Tyra) Rahbany. He also left behind several nieces and nephews, Katy (Jason) Tate, Kimberly (Ryan) Godare, Konrad (Kelsey) Schultz, Connor (Madison) Rahbany, Alexander Rahbany, Grayson Rahbany and John Regan Rahbany along with several great-nieces and nephews, along with countless cousins.
Waiting to greet him in his new journey are his father, Raji S. “Roger” Rahbany; paternal grandparents, Raji S. Rahbany Sr. and Haifa Nadar Rahbany; maternal grandparents, Ewell Comeaux, Myrtle Provost and Ted Provost.
The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Bradberry for his medical care and guidance along with the ER and ICU staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital who took care of him so compassionately. These are true angels sent to people in their hardest, darkest, and final hours.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, La. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles, La. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
