A Lake Charles man has been arrested for allegedly trying to pick up a local high school student from her class so that he could have sex with her.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, the school’s resource officers were told Kenneth R. Cretchain Jr., 19, was possibly on his way to the school to pick up a student for sexual purposes.

Vincent said the resource officers intercepted Cretchain when he arrived at the school, at which time he was transported to CPSO for questioning.
