Annie “Aunt Nan” Lee Joseph Williams

Annie Lee “Aunt Nan” Joseph Williams, nee Guillory, was born Jun. 23, 1927, in Opelousas, La. to the late Vorice and Beatrice Bias Guillory. She was a former member of Hillcrest Baptist Church under the leadership of Emeritus Pastor Rev. Ernest Ford, where she was a true servant of God, serving in various auxiliaries; the choir, Sunday School, kitchen, Usher, Deaconess, and Mission Department. She later moved her membership to Ebenezer Baptist Church of Cameron in Lake Charles, under the leadership of her son, Pastor Lannis Joseph Sr., where she served as Deaconess, Baptism Committee, Devotion Leader in the Women’s Mission Department, and Prayer Service. She also worked in the Food Pantry, and was also a faithful member of the Sunday School Department. Sister Williams passed as the oldest member of Ebenezer. She was also very active in the Southwest Missionary Baptist Association and a member of the Eastern Stars. She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Anna (Jerry) Antoine, Elsie (Don) Lewis Sr., Juanita (Ronald) Bartie, and Alberta Adcock; five sons, Lester (Ida) Joseph Sr., Pastor Lannis (Alice) Joseph Sr., Walton Joseph, Alvin Joseph, and Anthony (Karen) Guillory; 35 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren, 36 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lula Collins and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Williams; her sons, Chester Joseph, Jimmy Joseph Sr., and Kirby Joseph; daughter, Lorcie Joseph; grandsons, Jimmy Joseph Jr. and Travis Soublet; parents, Vorice and Beatrice Guillory; stepmother, Edna Guillory; brothers, Vorice Guillory Jr., Ernest Guillory Sr. and Linton Collins; sisters, Ana Gallow, Mary Lou Bethea, Oladean Vincent, and Leatha Carter; brothers-in-law, Vernice Gallow, Willie Bethea, Floyd Vincent Sr., and Alfred Carter Sr.; sister-in-law, Melody Guillory, and father of her children, Wallace Joseph. Her visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, from 11 a.m. with her funeral following at 2 p.m. in United Christian Fellowship Church located at 2900 Opelousas Street in Lake Charles. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of James Funeral Home.
