Gladie E. Darbonne, age 87, of Westlake, La. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 in Lake Charles, La. surrounded by her loving family. Gladie was born in Opelousas, La. on Jan. 27, 1936 to her parents Clint and Stella Richard. She then moved to Gossport and later Westlake. She married the love of her life Willard Darbonne.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother for 67 years.

Those left to cherish her memories include her six children, Craig Darbonne, Curtis Darbonne, Renee’ Darbonne all of Westlake, La., Wesley Darbonne and wife, Cheryl, and Paul Darbonne and wife, Diane both of Richmond, Texas.

She is also survived by her sister, Ramona Wall of Lake Charles.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willard; her son, Clint, and her parents.

The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. The visitation will resume the following day at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to extend an invitation for a reception at the KC hall for family and friends following funeral services.
