James “Jim” Elrye LeBlanc

James Elrye “Jim” LeBlanc, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023 in Lake Charles, La. Mr. LeBlanc was born on Jan. 8, 1939 in Abbeville, La. to Elrye Jules “Ting” and Annie Bonvillian LeBlanc.
He was a 1957 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and was a member of the marching band and the track team. Jim was a man of many talents. He could draw and paint beautifully. He was also musically talented. He could listen to a song one time and could play it on his clarinet by memory.
Jim was also an excellent cook. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Jim worked many years in the oilfield industry for National Supply, Standard Supply, and Cameron Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Leah Polaske; his grandson, Travis Myers; and two sisters, Patsy Morein and Debra Reed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his stepson, Darren Rozas (Tammy); his grandchildren, Emily Landry (Seth), Zachary Myers, Jacob Polaske, Molly Provost (Brian), Avery Rozas (Madelyn), and Cloe Rozas; great-grandchildren, Brynleigh and Talon Landry, Kyson, Kamin, Kulin, and Kamil Provost, and River and Georgia Rozas; his sisters, Myrna Calloura (Frank) and Norma Kay Gabbert (Jerry); numerous nieces and nephews, and former wife, Verona LeBlanc.
A private celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Nov. 4, 2023, for family and close friends. Interment will be at a later date at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
