Nellwyn Ruth (Bishop) Metcalf, age 83, passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023. 

A service will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 at 6 p.m. Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 24, 2023 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Montgomery, La.

Nellwyn was known by many and never met a stranger; she loved to cook and feed everyone. She’ll be remembered by her faith, family, fellowship and food!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn D. and Ollie L. Bishop; son, Carl Metcalf; brothers, Norris Bishop, Terry Bishop and a great-grandchild Kensley Arnold. 

She is survived by her husband, Willie Metcalf, who met her at church when she was only a few weeks old. He told his grandmother “I want to take that baby home” and they’ve been married for 66 years; daughters, Sadone Buller and husband, Mike, Stacey Buller and husband, Kent; grandchildren, Tyler Arnold and wife, Margaret, Austin Arnold, Lacey Buller, Kaleb Buller and Jace Buller; great-grandchildren, Willie and Amelia Arnold
