10th annual Lawyers in Libraries events set for next week

The Calcasieu Parish Public Library is participating in the 10th annual “Lawyers in Libraries” statewide program.
For the past nine years, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Library Association, and the State Library of Louisiana have hosted “Lawyers in Libraries” events during National Celebrate Pro Bono Week.
During this week, LSBA attorneys and libraries across Louisiana come together to provide free, limited services to the public.
The programs, which are free and open to the public, will take place at the following libraries:
- Sulphur Regional Library, 1160 Cypress Street, (337) 721-7138:

- Monday, Oct. 23, from 11 am – 1 pm
- Vinton Library, 1601 Loree St., (337) 721-7095:

- Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 3 pm – 5 pm
- Epps Memorial Library, 1200 North MLK Hwy., Suite 500 (337) 721-7090:

- Monday, Oct. 23, from 1 pm – 5 pm
- Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 1 pm – 3 pm
- Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 1 pm – 3 pm
Lawyers will be available to meet one-on-one with patrons and answer any legal questions they may have. Please note these clinics do not handle criminal matters.
Registration is not required for the Sulphur and Vinton clinics, but appointments must be made for the Epps Memorial clinics. Call the Epps Memorial Library at 337-721-7090 to set up an appointment.
