Allen Wayne Tharp, 55, of Solana Beach, Calif., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 surrounded by his beautiful and loving family.  

Allen was born on Feb. 16, 1968 to Wayne and Aleata Tharp in Vinton, La.  Allen graduated from Vinton High School in 1986 and joined the United States Navy in 1987. Allen was stationed at Miramar aboard the USS Constellation as an Airman based in San Diego, Calif. and was honorably discharged.  Allen met his future wife, Tina, while stationed in San Diego and they were married in July of 1993. Allen graduated from the University of San Diego in 1994 with a Bachelor’s of Accountancy.  After working in Chicago as a CPA for Ernst & Young, he joined Hamilton Tharp LLP, where he practiced and successfully established the Sports Division of the firm until his retirement in 2021. Allen was an avid golfer and a dedicated supporter of LSU football.

Allen is survived by his wife, Christina Tharp of Solana Beach, Calif.; their three children, Alyson Tharp of London, England, Audrey Tharp and Carson Tharp, both of Solana Beach, Calif.;  Allen’s father, Wayne Tharp of Vinton, La.; sisters, Jessie Tharp Moody of Sulphur, La. and Dana Tharp Reed of Welsh, La. He was preceded in death by his mother, Aleata Tharp of Vinton, La. 

Allen was a registered organ donor and was able to help others in need as part of his final wishes.

A memorial service and military burial will be held in December at the Miramar National Cemetery.
