Gary Thomas Littleton

Gary Thomas Littleton, 61, of Lake Charles, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, in his home, after a brief illness. Gary was born on May 3, 1962, in Baton Rouge, La. to Huey Thomas Littleton and Ouida Joyce Haygood Littleton.
He was a 1980 graduate of Sulphur High School where he lettered in three sports and was an All-State Quarterback. Gary was also a recipient of the Jep Blake Memorial Award. He was the state’s highest scorer, MVP of District 4A, and was All Southwest and All District for baseball. He received a scholarship to McNeese State University for football. After graduating from McNeese, Gary went to work under his father at Littleton Claims Service for 40 Years. Gary was happiest when he was outdoors hunting, fishing and watching sports. He credited his father, and coach, Shannon Suarez, for being the most influential men in his life.
He loved to watch his children grow up and play sports, and his two granddaughters were his pride and joy and he loved spending time with them.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Laura Lea Littleton and Erica Littleton Norwood and husband, Eric Norwood; a son, Tanner Thomas Littleton; and two grandchildren, Emmie and Elle Norwood.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Charlie and Kristi Suarez Sanner, Hunter Lundy and James Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Huey Thomas Littleton and Ouida Joyce Haygood Littleton; a sister, Pamela Maxine Littleton Ellender; brother-in-law, Eric Ross Ellender; and son, Logan Thomas Littleton.
A memorial service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Hunter Lundy will officiate. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., until the time of service.
