Emma Lou Robertson

Emma Lou Robertson 94, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, peacefully in her residence. Emma was born Oct. 14, 1928, to Sidney & Elina Vincent in Nunez, La. After she graduated, she moved to Lake Charles where she attended trade school. She then went to work at Cit-Con where she met the love of her life and was married to him for 70 years before he passed away in 2021.
She had a love for all flowers, gardening, bird watching and just being outside. She had a green thumb to be matched by no others. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed cooking for everyone and enjoyed sharing her passion as well. She loved fashion and wore it beautifully. Sharing family visits and get-togethers was one of her most cherished times.
She was also an avid sports fan always cheering for LSU football and baseball, New Orleans Saints, Joe Burrow, Paul Skenes and loved reading Scooter Hobbs’ sports column.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur and a devoted lover of Jesus, her Savior, all her life. She could often be heard humming her favorite old hymns while cooking, gardening, or updating her never ending to do list for her children which always brought about a lot of laughs.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Barnie Floyd and her granddaughter Sarah Alyse Bertrand.
She is survived by her children; son, Randy & his wife, Betsy; daughter, Sandra & her husband, Dalton Landry; daughter, Sharlyn Bertrand; daughter, Karen & her husband, Steve Conrad; step-daughter, Kathy Kile and her husband, Mike; Also, 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Brother Rickey Robertson, nephew of Emma, will officiate services.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Emma Lou Robertson.
