Bernice Havens Coleman Smith, 98, of Westlake, La., passed from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Clifford Coleman of Singer, La.; daughter, Verna Meche and Kenneth of Westlake, La.; sister, Betty Stine of Sulphur, La.;  grandchildren, Denice Dale, Virgil Meche (Amanda), Christina Pourciau (Gerald), Mary Jane Stevens (Billy Ray), Jerry Coleman (Tammy); great-grandchildren, Brittany Laird (Jacob), Hally Woody (James), Kristy Leick, Katlyn Mason, April Dickey (Omar), Tiffany Hall (Deon), Makala Simpson (Lee), Michael Bertrand (Courtney), Nathan Meche (Rita), Ashley Melone (Justin); 16 great-great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nathan Coleman, Ivan Smith; parents, Lonnie and Mayola Havens; brothers, Archie Havens, JR Havens; great-granddaughter, Gracie Lynn Speights; daughter-in-law, Fay Coleman; brother-in-law, Carol Stine.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.  Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept.  22, 2023 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.  Sullivan Turner will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow at Havens Cemetery in Singer, La.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.
