Nancy Lou Gauthreaux Percle, 85, of Lake Charles passed away at 1:49 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023 in her residence.

Mrs. Percle was born on Dec. 13, 1937 in Lake Charles where she was a 63 year resident and a 1955 graduate of St. Charles Academy.   She worked for Broussard Insurance Agency for more than 20 years.  Mrs. Percle was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Howard John Percle, Sr. of Lake Charles; daughters, Julie Fontenot of Iowa, Susan Percle of Sulphur, and Jane Arabie (Terry) of Ragley; sons, Howard Percle, Jr. (Melanie) of Tatum, Texas, Joey Percle (Raevin) of New Iberia, and Gregory Percle (Susan) of Lake Charles; daughter in law, Medina Percle of Sulphur; brothers, Leroy Gauthreaux of Gretna and Ted Gauthreaux (Debbie) of Lake Charles; 24 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Lee and Lucia LeBlanc Gauthreaux; daughter, Karen Percle; son, Christopher Percle; grandchild, Kelly Percle; great grandchild, Luke Crochet; brothers, Ferdinand, Edwin, Norman, Fred, and Bobby Gauthreaux; and sisters, Fannie Marjorie Gauthreaux, Nellie Woods, and Bette Gremillion.

A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.  Father Joseph Caraway will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the rosary begins at 1 p.m.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff of Heart of Hospice, granddaughter, Cammy Gilley, Goddaughter, Belinda Higginbotham, a special family friend, Paula LaVergne, and her three caretakers for their care and compassion given to Mrs. Percle.
