Melinda Michelle Burge Christ, born on March 27, 1957, in Lake Charles, La.,passed away from a stroke on Aug. 12, 2023, in Golden, Co.

Melinda was a part of a closely-knit family. She shared a special bond with her sister Vickie Wessel, her husband John, and her sister Lecia Gill. She was also close with her blended family members, Charlane Compton (Jack), CharlesRichard, Jr. (deceased), and Velarie Frusha (John-deceased). Melinda was lovedby many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; Geneve Jeanette Richard and Winfred Edison Burge.

Melinda’s journey began in Louisiana, led to Texas and the destination was Colorado. She found joy in collecting beautiful objects, each piece telling a story of its own. An ardent music lover, she found solace in melodies. A voracious reader, she loved spending time wither “bookies” friends and getting lost in the world of imagination. An active supporter of the Democratic Party, Melinda was a woman of strong convictions and believed in making a difference.

Melinda, through her kindness and thoughtfulness, made a significant difference in the lives of those around her. May her spirit continue to inspire us, and may her legacy live on in the hearts and lives of those she touched.
