Howard Clinton Zimmerman, Jr., 71, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 in Carencro, LA.
Mr. Zimmerman was born, raised and educated in Alexandria, Va. and was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School. Following graduation, he served the United States Army, including two tours in Vietnam, stationed in Korea. He later graduated with a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Louisiana Monroe, formerly Northeastern University. He began working in banking and accepted an offer from Calcasieu Marine in Lake Charles where he remained for ten years and met his bride of thirty-three years. Mr. Zimmerman pursued his interest in telecommunications, cellular sales and management for Centennial Wireless, now AT&T until retiring in 2022. He was an avid, “all things LSU”, fan and enjoyed countless hours of tailgating and cheering. He was best known as an electronics and technology guru with a number of “Crank it Up” awards for his talents in auto audio. His greatest times were shared with family, barbecuing on his “green egg”, pampering his beloved cat, Lily and fathering, all the while adoring, his daughter. Mr. Zimmerman will be most remembered for the love of his family.
