Starks resident Tim Miller is a finalist in a Christian artist music competition, and Christian music lovers can help him win. Whether he comes out ahead of the four East Texas competitors or not, he said, “I’ll Keep Singing.”
That’s also the title of the song that made Miller a finalist. He wrote it for his wife Rosa, who was going through a rough time. Together they read scripture, prayed and praised God, often through song. It’s not the first time that the couple who has been married for 25 years have weathered a storm together and experienced the impact that praise music can have. One line in the song is, “I don’t sing because I’m happy; I’m happy because I sing.”
Rosa heard the song for the first time when Tim performed it at the August 25 Apostolic Creative Talent Search. The search and competition was created two years ago by Vidor music producer Stephen Droddy to call attention to undiscovered talent within the apostolic movement. This year’s entries doubled.
Readers who want to hear the song and help Tim win can stream “I’ll Keep Singing” on all music platforms including iTunes, YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify and Pandora. Adding the song to their playlist can also earn points.
The winner will be announced January 1 and will receive a fully produced five-song ep.
No matter the outcome, Miller said he’s gonna keep on singing.
“That’s how we get our victory,” he said. “When Israel marched around Jericho the walls came down when they obeyed God and shouted. In the Old Testament, the musicians marched ahead of the warriors. When you lose your song, you lose your victory.”
