Upon arrival, deputies located a 2016 Lexus that was stationary at the intersection, hindering the normal flow of traffic.

Artis was asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle when officers made contact with him, Hebert said. During a search of the vehicle, deputies found synthetic marijuana along with several pills, including Clonazepam, Alprazolam, and a quantity of substances believed to be illegal narcotics.

Artis is being held on a $37,200 bond in the Allen Parish Jail.
