A Lake Charles man has pleaded guilty to sexual battery in three separate cases involving female juveniles, including one which occurred at a sleepover in Jeff Davis Parish in 2020.
James Gary Morado Jr., 24, was recently sentenced to serve three years at hard labor on each of the three convictions in the 31st Judicial District Court. The sentences are to run concurrently and are to be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspension, according to the Jeff Davis Parish District Attorney’s Office.
Morado is also required to register as a sex offender for 15 years.
Morado was arrested in August 2020 following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact with a then 14-year-old at a sleepover at a residence in Iowa.
At the time of his arrest, Morado was also wanted by authorities in Calcasieu Parish and Sulphur on unrelated sex charges.
