Planned water outage issued for Lake Arthur

A planned water outage and boil advisory will be issued for the town of Lake Arthur beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7.
The town’s water will be cut off most of the morning, or longer until repairs are completed on a flange that is leaking on a six-inch water line connected to the hydrate on the corner of Derouen Street and 7th Street.
The boil advisory will remain in effect until rescinded by the town.
Residents are urged to disinfect their water before consuming it – including making ice, brushing teeth and using it for food preparation or rinsing food – by boiling the water for a full minute in a clean container. The minute starts after the water has come to a rolling boil.
The advisor does not affect showering or bathing.
Residents are urged to check social media and mobile apps for updates. Residents may also call the Town Hall at 337-774-2211 for more information.
