Wallace “Jay” Ray Hebert Sr., age 84, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. 

Wallace was born in 1938 in Sweetlake, La., to parents Noah Hebert of Sweetlake, La. and Loretta Foreman Hebert formerly of Indian Village, La. 

He worked most of his life in sales and had a love of people. He will definitely be remembered for his humorous personality and was never seen without a smile. His family always came first, and he was known for his deep passion and love for golfing. He also boxed, enjoyed walking while he was still able, and listening to gospel music. 

Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters. 

He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Janis Hebert; 4 children; 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will welcome the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home Friday, July 28, 2023 from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
