Lake Charles police are investigating a Thursday night shooting at a local gas station that led to one being hospitalized for a gunshot wound to the leg.

Sgt. Larry Moss said patrol officers were dispatched to a Citgo gas station at 1330 12th St. just after 9 p.m. Thursday in reference to a call for
a shot fired at that location.

“Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate a suspect or a victim, but did find evidence leading them to conclude that a shooting had occurred,” Moss said. “In the same timeframe, a call was received from a local area hospital, indicating that an individual had arrived in the emergency room, presenting with a non-life threating gunshot to the leg.”

Moss said it was determined this was the same person involved in the incident at the gas station.
