Lafayette Gospel artist Trent Gaddison has released his newest single, “Shout It Out” — which celebrates overcoming trials and tribulations — on all digital outlets.

“Shout It Out” is a follow-up to Gaddison’s 2016 single, “Revival,” and his 2017 single, “Free.”

“All of my music tells some type of story on where I am in life at that present time,” Gaddison said. “When ‘Shout It Out’ was written, I was on a plane back from Baltimore and I was reflecting on everything that I had just come out of.”

At the time, Gaddison had gone through a divorce and said he was struggling mentally. He wrote “Revival” as a way to help him get through his struggles, and then wrote “Free” as a way to help him finish getting through those struggles.

“When ‘Shout It Out’ came out, I was finally to a place where I felt like me again,” Gaddison said. “I just wanted to give praise for that and shout it out that the Lord is good and his name will be great forever because, through my dark time and the place that I was in, he’s all that I had.”

Gaddison released his debut album, “I Survived,” in 2018, and said he was inspired to start making music by watching his family while growing up. His mother would sing in their church’s choir and play the piano, and his brother and cousins would form their own musical groups.

“I’ve been around music pretty much my whole life and it just kind of stuck with me,” Gaddison said. “I was able to pull a little bit from my grandmother, my mom, pull a little bit from my brother, and ultimately form my identity in music, and here we are now.”

Since then, Gaddison set out on a journey to reach people all around the world and spread his message of hope through his songs.

“Keep on living. Everybody everywhere. We’re human, so, of course, we’re going to get dealt our fair share of adversity, we’re going to have to meet up with some bumps in the roads, there’s going to be some barriers that we’ll have to go around, but if I can encourage all of my listeners today my message would be keep on living, keep on progressing, keep on moving forward, because there’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel, and there’s definitely a blessing on the other side of whatever it is we may be dealing with right now. So to all of my listeners, keep on living, keep on being great, keep on moving forward.”
