Rodger Dale Carpenter, aged 66, left this life on Friday July 7 , 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 27, 1956, in Lake Charles, La. to Ollie and Earlene Carpenter. He was the born the youngest of four siblings. He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1975, where he played football.
After high school he had a career in the oil and gas industry with Phillips Petroleum. He lived most of his life in Lake Charles, La. Rodger joined his children in Oklahoma in 2000. Rodger was an avid golfer and LSU fan. He enjoyed cooking for his family and spending time with his friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. His greatest accomplishments in life were his children and grandc hildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Ashley Lowery and son in law Scott, grandchildren Austin, Maddox and Maverick of Monroe, La., Miranda Smith and son-in law Jason, grandchildren Kayla, Jason and Jalen of Shawnee, Ok., Courtney Martin and husband Ryan, grandchildren Gabby, Emma, Blakely and Parker of Prague, Ok. and Lyndi Stewart and grandson Koben of Lake Charles, La., his sister Felicia Carpenter of Lake Charles, La., Cathy Fonenot of Moss Bluff, La., niece Cheri McComb and nephews Chase Desormeaux and Jason Fonenot.
He was reunited with those that went before him including his son, Shannon Carpenter, his parents Ollie & Earlene Carpenter and brother Darrell Carpenter.
The family wants to give a special thanks to Dr. James Lee and all the hospital staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital in OKC, for their loving and compassionate care during his hospital stay.
