The Lake Charles Fire Department responded to a fire at Calcasieu Refining Saturday afternoon — the second incident this month at the facility.

Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter said in a Facebook Live posting that there is no shelter in place or evacuation needed at this time.

“Though Calcasieu Refining operates outside the city limits, it affects residents outside the city limits and inside the city limits so this incident today and the one a couple of Saturdays ago are concerning,” Hunter said. “We will be following up with every appropriate agency to make sure these incidents are fully investigated and, hopefully that these incidents can be mitigated and prevent in the future.”

The fire department said the fire has been contained.
