A Lake Charles man has been arrested after video showing him physically assaulting a girl under the age of 10 was uploaded to social media.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said Special Victims Unit detectives watched the video and saw Christopher J. Jolivette, 32, physically assaulting the girl and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Jolivette turned himself in on Wednesday and was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile.  He was released later the same day on a $95,000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio.

It was also discovered Jolivette had an active warrant through LCPD for child desertion.
