A Sulphur man was arrested over the weekend in the rape of a girl under the age of 10.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said deputies responded to a call of a rape in progress at about 11:30 p.m. May 27.
When deputies arrived, they saw the suspect, Randy M. Alston, 68, leaving the neighborhood in his truck, Vincent said.
“He was stopped by deputies and after further investigation he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with first-degree rape,” Vincent said.
Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $300,000.
