Veterans, family members and area residents gathered to honor those who served, fought and died for their country.
Vietnam veteran Harry Ardoin, whose wife is buried at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, thanks the cemetery's staff for providing a peaceful final resting place for veterans and their spouses. Ardoin was part of the 4th annual Memorial Day service held at the cemetery.
Jaquetta Fontenot, widow of Roy Fontenot, expresses her gratitude to the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery for honoring those veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that she could live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Fontenot was among the guest speakers Monday during the 4th annual Memorial Day service at the cemetery located in Jennings.
Lenor Cox, widow of Ted Cox Sr., was one of several guest speakers Monday during the 4th annual Memorial Day service at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings.
