Filton “Rev” Peter Thibodeaux

Filton Peter Thibodeaux passed away from this life on May 11, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Born Nov. 18, 1944, Filton was a loving and compassionate husband, dad/father, paw paw, great-grandfather and friend. After and congruent with a 30-year career as an operator in the petrochemical industry, he pursued his lifelong work of serving Jesus and leading many to Christ, earning him the nickname “Rev” to those who knew and worked with him. To know him was to love him. He had a quick wit, he loved to sing, and he yelled at the Saints as though they could hear him through the TV.
Filton will be cherished and remembered by a robust and close-knit family that includes his loving wife, Linda Rainwater Thibodeaux; his four children, Melissa Nunez with husband Benjamin David, Gayla Gunderson with husband Scott, Kellye Thibodeaux and Ryan Thibodeaux with wife Miranda; nine grandchildren, Tyler Nunez with wife Kate Hatheway, Bailey Guidry with husband Ronnie, Alex Gunderson, Reagan Gunderson, Grant Gunderson, Sydney Gunderson, Carson Thibodeaux, Conner Thibodeaux and Kinsey Joy Thibodeaux; great-grandchildren, Ryder Guidry and Isla Hatheway-Nunez; and siblings, Raymond Thibodeaux and Flo Ellender.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lula as well as seven siblings. He will be dearly missed by all his life has impacted.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 6 p.m. The Rev. Robert Kratzer and Rev. Luke Leichty will officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
