A Lake Charles man has been charged with aggravated battery after allegedly stabbing a family member in the chest during an argument.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said deputies were dispatched to a home in Lake Charles Sunday night in reference to a disturbance.

Vincent said when deputies arrived, they learned Dyllan M. Villa, 22, was involved in a verbal altercation with a family member and during that argument he armed himself with a small knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.

Another family member was also cut by Villa during the incident, Vincent said.

Villa was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with two counts of aggravated battery. His bond is still pending.

Both victims sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
