John Wojciechowski, 83, of Lake Charles, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at a local facility.  He was born on Aug. 1, 1939,  in Camden, N.J., to John and Helen Wojciechowski.

John was a graduate of Haddon Heights High School in Haddon Heights, N.J., and was very proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Jonas Ingram, DD938.  After his service in the military, John worked as an Instrument Technician for Cities Service and Trunkline LNG. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending time at the Jersey Shore.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carole Wojciechowski of Lake Charles; one daughter, Lisa Gros and her husband Scott of Mandeville, La.; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Sophie; brother, William Wojciechowski and wife Jane; and sister-in-law, Linda Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffrey Wojciechowski; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Mary Burke.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023,  at Johnson Funeral Home located at 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA 70605.  A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Catholic Funeral Rite at 2 p.m. also at Johnson Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements will immediately follow the services.
