Kershaw was initially arrested by the Jennings Police Department in January on five counts of first-degree rape of a juvenile, six counts of molestation of a juvenile and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

If convicted, first-degree rape carries a sentence of life imprisonment.

The case against Kershaw was presented to the grand jury by Assistant District Attorney Torrie Thibodeaux.
