Artey Courmier, 76, of Sulphur, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, in his residence surrounded by family.

Artey loved spending time with his family and friends, spending time at the Hackberry camp and was a big supporter of the Louisiana High School Rodeo Association.  He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to go hunting and fishing.  Artey will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Courmier; son, Shane Courmier; daughter, Belinda Courmier (Sadie); grandsons, John Courmier (Jenna), Chance Courmier (Stevie); granddaughter, Kaline Brooks (Logan); brothers, Veatchel Courmier (Pam), Camus Courmier (Terri), Steve Overacker of Iowa, Lec Overacker (Connie); sister, Megan Courmier; great-grandchildren, Raygan, Kaydan, Rawsyn, Warren, Kaizleigh; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Courmier and Christine Overacker; brothers, Cyrus Courmier and Brillien Courmier; and son, Bart Courmier.

A memorial visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur, La.
