LC man accused of kidnapping, battering woman

A Lake Charles man has been charged with second-degree kidnapping after being accused of holding a woman against her will for several hours and battering her.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said Torrey C. Robinson, 45, was arrested April 20 after deputies were dispatched to a residence on Gateway Drive in reference to a disturbance.

Robinson was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with battery of a dating partner with a dangerous weapon serious bodily injury; and second-degree kidnapping.

Judge Tony Fazzio ordered he be held without bond pending a hearing.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
