John Lavoy Littleton, Jr, age 73, of Lake Charles,  passed away Friday, April 21, 2023.

John was born to John and Peggy Littleton in Corpus Christi, Texas. He grew up in Vinton, La., but spent the majority of his life in the Lake Charles area.

John loved the simple things in life. He especially enjoyed being outdoors and riding his bike everywhere he went. His hobbies were riding his unicycle, going for long walks, hiking in the woods and making paper airplanes of all sorts with his children, nieces and nephews. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Gwendolyn Bridges Littleton; two daughters, Kelly Littleton of Round Rock, Texas, Jennie Littleton Sanchez (husband Juan) of Laredo, Texas; three grandchildren, Diego Sanchez, Jazzmin Sanchez and Sierra Sanchez; two brothers, Walter Littleton Sr. (wife Victoria) of Westlake, La., Thomas Littleton (wife Sherry) of Dothan, Ala.; and sister, Lucretia Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Peggy Littleton;  brother-in-law, Fred Martinez; and niece, Lucretia Martinez.

Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Alma Dr. in Lake Charles, La. Jerome Broussard will officiate the services.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Lake Charles Care Center for their years of care and compassion.
