Myrtle Eileen Grantham

Myrtle Eileen Jordan Grantham left her earthly body to be with God at 12:24 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at her home in Lake Charles, La.
Mrs. Grantham was born June 13, 1932, in Simpson County, Miss. (Magee). Most of her friends and family called her by her middle name, Eileen. She retired from Bellsouth and AT&T Management after more than 30 years of service. Eileen served as Queen of The Krewe Déjà Vu Du Monde in 1999, and as Queen of Krewe de Noblesse in 2007. She enjoyed going on cruises and flying to Las Vegas to see the shows. Eileen also loved playing Pirate with the Buccaneers of Lake Charles. Eileen loved fine dining and would never give up a chance to go dancing.
Mrs. Grantham is survived by her husband of 30 years, Russell W. Grantham. She is also survived by her daughters, Norma McVey (Mike) and Donna Reed; and her stepsons, Gabe Grantham and Casey Grantham. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Warren Nelson, Todd Nelson, Staci Reed Heath, Bryan Reed; and her step grandchildren, Allison McVey, Sara McVey, Athena Grantham, and Troy Grantham; also, her great-grandchildren, Hayley Ney, Abby Heath, Haden Heath, Cassidy Rougeau and Nicholas Reed; and her great-great grandson, Wes Ney. She is also survived by her brother, Hershal Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ola Jordan; her daughter, Suzanne Nelson; one brother; and three sisters; and her granddaughter, Hannah Clair McVey.
Pallbearers are the Buccaneers of Lake Charles.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Pastor Kevin Richard will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening, April 13, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will resume on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the start of the service at 11 a.m.
