Dorteline Richard Lantz, age 93, of Gillis, La., passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, and was born on Jan. 31, 1930, to Philip and Agnes Richard. Dorteline also known as “Dorothy” to her friends and family.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be remembered forever.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Lantz; son, Scotty Lantz; son-in-law, Dale Hieronymus; her parents; brothers, Wayne, Jeffrie and Epil Richard; and sisters, Eva Klumpp and Gertrude Hebert.
Those left behind to cherish to her memory are her children, Martha McLemore (Jim Pat), Michael Lantz (Sheila), Marilyn Hebert (Malcolm), Jeanette Pehl (Don), Darline Parish (Gary) and Paulette Gilger (Wayne); sister, Bobbie Gaspard; brother, Terrel Richard; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of treasured nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m.until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Moss Bluff with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, with the Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
Dorothy’s family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Stonebridge Assisted Living, Harbor Hospice, and Calcasieu Community Care Center.
