Kenneth Edward Racca

Kenneth Edward Racca, 74, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 in a local hospital.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. Kenneth was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran of the Second Armored Division. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years, owned and operated a shrimping business, having built his own boat, and had also worked as a tow truck driver and a teamster, driving an 18 wheeler for Kroger. In his teen years, he worked on a rice farm owned by Bruce Alexander. Kenneth was a mechanic and enjoyed carpentry, especially building porch swings. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 406. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles.
Survivors include his siblings, Harold Racca of Sulphur, James Racca of DeRidder, Margaret Meyer of Raceland, and Faye Frickey of Des Allemands; and his children, Jody Racca of Sulphur, and Donna Belanger of Buda, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie Racca.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Fred McLemore will officiate. The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
