Gloria Colette Geddes

Gloria “Colette” Geddes, 80, of Sulphur, La., passed away on March 5, 2023, in a local care facility. Colette was born on Oct. 11, 1942, to Cole and Merrell in Rayville, La. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidery, bible study and spending time with her grandkids. Colette taught first grade for 33 years at Maplewood. Colette was a graduate of Northeast College. She was a member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church where she did story time at the daycare for many years.
Colette is survived by her children, Kelley Gouldin and husband Walter Jr., Kristen Gorum, and her bonus daughter, Angel Duncan; nine grandkids, Clayton Gorum, Julie Gouldin, Avery Gorum, Audrey Gorum, Lauralee Gouldin, Lila Gouldin, Thiago Preira, Opiem Suwattanapongched, Florian Lorquet, and Madison Griffen; one great-grandson, Finn Griffen; siblings, William “Bo” Davis, David Ray Davis and wife, Mary; Richard “Rick” Davis and wife, Paula; and Robert Davis and wife, Lynn; brother in law, Billy White; sister in law, Joy Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Geddes; sister, Ida Lee White; brother, Charles Davis; sister-in-law, Bonnie Davis; son-in-law, Blayne Gorum; and brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Peggy Geddes.
Service for Colette will be on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Henning Memorial United Methodist Church in Sulphur with the Rev. Doctor Juliet Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. and will resume on Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service.
