Ralph “Randy” Randall Stewart of DeQuincy, La., passed away on Feb. 11, 2023, at the age of 59. He was born on Aug. 29, 1963, to his parents, Janice L. Stewart and the late Ralph L. Stewart. Randy was the loving father of his daughter Randi Grace Stewart. Randy graduated from Alfred M. Barbe High School. His chosen crafts were construction, welding, paint and body, and drafting from which he received a certificate at Sowela Tech. He worked ranches from Texas to Montana as a cowboy, attended Oklahoma State University for business, and later became a member of the National Transit Lodge in Kansas City for Boilermakers. Randy could see intricate details enabling him to bring his ideas to life in ways only a true artist could. His creative skills were extensive and demonstrated in welding fabrication, construction, and leather work. He opened and set up a shop for Cacti Industries, as well as, his own shop in Beeville, Texas, where he made custom leather saddles. The people he encountered along his journey were drawn to his craftsmanship and persistence. He was frequently described as a renaissance man due to his comprehensive knowledge and skill in a myriad of disciplines. Shortly after he married his wife, Gracie, his daughter was born in 2004. Randi Grace was the apple of Randy’s eye and he loved her with all his heart. He shared as many of his passions as he could with her such as riding horses together in the great outdoors. His most recent project was creating a homestead where his elderly mother could live out her last years in peace by doing her favorite activities of gardening and reading. Randy’s family and friends would best describe him as inordinately generous and quick to help anyone in need. Although Randy left us before his time, we believe that he has been lifted of his earthly burdens. Once more, he mounts his horse and rides off into the open country of heaven to return to the loving and open arms of our heavenly father.
