Mary Vincent Granger, 84, of Lake Charles, passed away at 1:41 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, in a local care facility.
Mrs. Granger was born on Sept. 18, 1938, in Crowley, and was raised in Morse, La. She and her husband moved to Lake Charles, in 1958. She most recently attended Moss Bluff Bible Church and she was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she was involved in making the church cook books.
She took great pleasure in being outside gardening and she also enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Troy Granger of Moss Bluff and Kayla Neese (Markis) of Carlyss; sisters, Wona Breaux and Verna Hargrave; granddaughter, Amanda Kay Higginbotham; and five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Camille, Caitlyn, Faith, and Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulice and Edna Vincent; daughter, Karon Granger; and 11 siblings.
A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Jeremy Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the start of the service.
