BATON ROUGE — St. Louis Catholic set two state records on Saturday at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association state indoor track and field championships at LSU’s Carl Maddox Field House but fell short of extending its team championship streak.
Episcopal stopped the Saints’ three-year run in Division II, outscoring them 80-68.
The St. Louis girls set a pair of relay records. In the 4×400-meter relay, Mia Medlin, Kendal Touchet, Kenzie Touchet and Hannah Boullion set a composite record at 3:59.12, breaking the old record of 3:59.44 set by Baton Rouge Magnet in 2002.
In the 4×800, Elizabeth Buttross, Sydney Guinn, Kendal Touchet and Ella Segura set a Division II record at 9:59.92. The old record was 10:02.11 by Sacred Heart-New Orleans in 2019.
Also for the state runner-up Saints, Kenzie Touchet won the 60 hurdles (8.94 seconds) and Ella Segura won the 800 run (2:21.07).

St. Louis Catholic’s Mason Abshire won his third pole vault state championship, defending his Division II indoor title with a clearance of 15 feet, 7 inches. He was the Class 3A outdoor state champion last season.
The Lake Charles College Prep boys placed third in Division II powered by gold medals in the 4×200 and 4×400 relay.
