Linda Adette Stowe

Adette Stowe passed away on Feb. 2, 2023, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Ray Hudspeth and Elizabeth Dean Hudspeth and her son Douglas Stowe. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Stowe. She is also survived by her children, their spouses, and grandchildren: David Stowe (Melissa Myers and children Isabelle and Eleanore), Jason Stowe (Megan Beade and children Marlow and Isla), and Laura Stowe Phillips (Tyler Phillips and children Nolan, Cadence, Remy, and Tenzin). She is also survived by her sister Deborah McLaughlin (Owen McLaughlin).
Adette was born in Lake Charles, La., on July 27, 1948, and graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1966. Adette and John were married in 1967. She earned a bachelor’s degree in math and biology from University of Houston in 1970 and a master’s degree in computer science from University of Missouri in 1986. In her professional career, she served on the computer science faculty at the University of Missouri and provided rigorous instruction to several thousand students until she retired in 2004. She then devoted herself full-time to her favorite role as mother and grandmother. During her lifetime, she was a devoted mother and spouse in an active family. She was a full-time care-giver for family members who needed her. She deeply loved and will miss her family.
Visitation and funeral service are at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively, on Sunday, Feb. 12, at Schoedinger at 4242 Hoover Road (HOOVER RD at KINGSTON AVE), Grove City, Ohio 43123.
