John Fred “T-Boy” Boudreaux, was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born June 18, 1944, to Garland and Veda Boudreaux, the eldest of six children. Due to an accident that caused his father to be disabled, T-Boy went to work at an early age to help the family financially, as well as maintain the family’s cattle and various crops.
His trademark was having a good sense of humor. He loved to tell stories that kept everyone rolling with laughter. He believed that laughter was the best medicine for a happy life.
Being a cowboy, he loved raising cattle, and quarter horses, and helping others with ranch work. The best years of his life were spent helping his children and grandchildren participate in high school rodeo events. In addition to his family, he helped many other high school students by serving as a turn-back helper in the cutting event.
T-Boy’s greatest love was his family. A perfect day was one with plenty of good food and a full house, with an understood welcome to anyone who wanted to join in. Keeping family traditions, come Saturday, he would start planning our Sunday meal as he would expect his family to be there. He was the greatest help in the kitchen by chopping and stirring in pots while preparing a delicious meal. He was a man’s man, loved and respected by all.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 58 years, Josie Richard Boudreaux; his children, Renee Nunez (Chip) of Tomball, Texas, David Boudreaux (Deanna) of Moss Bluff, La., Mary Canik (John) of Creole, La., and Jill Thibodeaux (Darin) of Iowa, La.; his grandchildren, Carah, Libby and George Nunez of Tomball, Texas, Dalton, Darien and Gabe Boudreaux of Sweetlake, La., Kaylee Livingston (Brett) of Laccasine, La., Lexie Trosclair (Jody) of Sweetlake, La., Taylor LeBoeuf of Laccasine, La., Jarrett Thibodeaux (fiance’ Josie) of Sweetlake, La., Marley Thibodeaux of Iowa, La., and Kacie Brounkouski of Denver, Colo.; his great-grandchildren, C’Lee and Linny Livingston of Laccasine, La., and Reese Trosclair of Sweetlake, La.; his siblings, Beverly Dyson (Leroy), Dora Dyson (Chester), Roy Boudreaux (Patricia), all of Grand Lake, La.; and Diane Armentor of Iowa, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Patrick Boudreaux; his infant daughter, Kellie Ann Boudreaux; his infant grandson, Tyler James Boudreaux; his nephew, Keith Dyson; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Armentor.
