Jeanette Fay Jensen Bowdon, 74, of Westlake, La., passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Bowdon was born March 12, 1948, in Lake Charles, La., and has lived in Westlake, La., since 1980. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated from Sowela Technical School in 1968. She worked at the Clerk of Courts office for over 34 years, retiring in 2003 as the Supervisor Deputy Clerk. Jeanette loved shopping and traveling and enjoyed playing games, crocheting and plastic canvas art. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her warm hugs.
Mrs. Bowdon is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph “Jay” Bowdon; and daughter, Allison Ruth Bowdon, both of Westlake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Betty Spell Jensen; and brother, Russel Jensen.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home. Kirk Bowdon will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continue on Monday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
