Timothy Howard Kinnison, Age 59, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, from cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family, whom he cherished.
He was born Feb. 1, 1963, in Mountain Home, Idaho. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served eight years. He served both on ship and in recruiting, bringing in others who wished to serve their country. Tim, as he was known, worked for 27 years at Phillips 66, in a number of increasingly responsible positions, with his last role as the I&E Superintendent. He was quiet and unassuming, with a dry sense of humor that caught you by surprise! He loved spending time with his family – his wife, Belle, and daughter, Taylor. His first granddaughter, Charlotte Belle, brought much joy in this last year. He loved playing golf and enjoyed spending time with all of his golfing buddies. He also loved to sit out, watch the waves and drink margaritas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larwood Kinnison; mother, Stella LeJeune; mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Bernard Cronenwett; and niece, Linzi Koonce.
Tim is survived by his wife, Belle Kinnison; daughter, Taylor Kinnison; son-in-law, Renan Paraguassu; granddaughter, Charlotte Paraguassu; his three brothers, Charlie Kinnison (Eva), Johnny Kinnison (Lisa) and Larry Kinnison Jr. (Angela); nephew, Charlie Kinnison Jr.; and niece, Courtney Kinnison. His family expanded greatly when he married Belle and he is survived by his California brothers and sisters, Bernard (Erin), Bonnie (Kip), Berna, Bernice, Barbara (Scot), and Barry (Jenny); along with 28 nieces and nephews. He was much loved and will be missed!
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA 70605. The Rev. Willie Bellard will officiate and friends are invited to share stories. A gathering of family and friends will be at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. and continue after the service until 3 p.m. We invite you to join us in celebrating his life, honoring a lifetime of hard work, achievements and more importantly, a life well lived.
