Monty Joseph Campbell, 73, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Dec. 22, 2022.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1949 in Sulphur, La. to Bootsie and CC Campbell. Monty Graduated from Sulphur High and has been a lifelong resident of Sulphur. Monty worked for the Sabine River Authority for 25 years and was set to retire on Jan. 5, 2023.
Monty was a very hard worker and a hell of a man. He loved the great outdoors, just as much as he loved his motorcycles. You could always find him out in the woods or at Jr.’s Cycle Shop working on a Harley. Monty enjoyed his life to the fullest and the people in it! He never strayed too far from his own beaten path and definitely marched to the beat of his own drum. To the friends and family that knew and loved Monty, just know that he loved you too.
Monty is survived by his nephews, Ray Campbell and Jayce Campbell; nieces, Bridgett Logan, Sherri Franks (Kenton Franks) and Lindsay Campbell; great niece, Aubrey Campbell; and great nephews, Gabe Martinez and Drake Campbell; and many more cousins, extended family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Inez Campbell and father, Clinton Cleo Campbell as well as his two brothers, Garland Ray Campbell and Lanny Cleo Campbell.
A Celebration of Monty’s life will be held 2 p.m. at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, with niece, Bridgett Campbell Logan leading services. Visitation will be at Hixson Sulphur Memorial on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The funeral home is located at 2051 E. Napoleon St. in Sulphur, La. Burial will follow in Farquhar Cemetery.
