Rose Marie (Miller) Cain

Rose Marie (Miller) Cain, 93, of Sulphur, La., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, at High Hope Care Center. She was born to her late parents, Houston and Nettie Tibbitts on Nov. 4, 1929, in Many, La. She attended McNeese State University where she acquired her Master’s Degree in Counseling and did doctoral studies at Walden University. Rose had her own counseling practice called “Family and Individual Counseling.” She enjoyed shopping, sewing, traveling, going to the beach (especially loved Destin), church activities, and loved helping others. Rose was a member of the Eastern Star in her earlier years. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, John W. Cain; two children, Judy Meeks (Michael) of Terrell, Texas, and Steven G. Miller (Darlene) of The Woodlands, Texas; two brothers, Billy Tibbitts of Weatherford, Texas, and Jimmy Tibbitts of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Christopher Meeks (Cheryl), Jennifer Haessig (Wally), Chase Miller (Kebir), and Dr. Crystal Goodman (Dr. Ian); along with six great-grandchildren, Lily Meeks, Grace Meeks, Hannah Haessig, Bella Haessig, Isaiah Haessig and Madeline Goodman.
Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence “C.O.” Miller; her parents; along with her sister, Ollie Jo Roberts.
A Celebration of Rose’s life will be held at Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, La., on Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Michael Linton officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Ft. Jessup Cemetery in Ft. Jessup, Louisiana at 3 p.m.
