Anita Louise (Bourque) Smith, born in Lake Charles, on Dec. 8, 1946, daughter of the late Eddie Bourque and Georgette (Smith) Bourque, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at the age of 76.
Anita attended St. Margaret Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of kids at Nee Nee’s Day Care, and anything needed for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Smith Sr., George “Bubba” Smith Jr.; siblings, Eddie Bourque Jr., and Mable Trahan.
Anita is survived by her sons, Michael Smith (Mindy) and Karel Smith; grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Triston and Mason.
A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Church, Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Rojo Antony, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Thursday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Friday in the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
