She is charged with two counts of bank fraud, three counts of forgery and one count of attempted bank fraud. She is also facing drug-related charges after heroin and drug paraphernalia was found during the book, according to Jennings Police Chief Danny Semmes.

Semis said the investigation started in March when a local complaint reported that several checks had been stolen with some of the checks cashed, Semmes said.

“A complaint came in to our office to advise that she had gone into a local bank and tried to cash checks which were found to be fraudulent,” Semmes said.

Adams-Duplechain was successful in chasing several checks totaling $5,000, he said.

“A warrant was issued for her arrest,” Semmes said. “Then this weekend a patrol officer conducting a routine patrol, stopped a vehicle and recognized the subject in the vehicle and knew she had warrants for her arrest.”

Adams-Duplechain was arrested without incident and booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail.

During booking, officers found her in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Bond was set at $12,500.
