Ruth “Tat” Faulk, 92, of Lake Charles, La. passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022. She was born on Feb. 19, 1930 in Cameron, La. to parents Milford Rogers and Nola Savoie Rogers. She was married to Carl “Sing” Faulk for 71 years until he preceded her in death in 2018. She spent her younger years raising her children, helping with the family-owned businesses, and cooking delicious meals for those she loved.
She was a longtime resident of Cameron Parish until her husband’s passing. She then moved to Lake Charles, where she made many new friends and won many games of bingo. She enjoyed traveling, baking, shopping, taking care of her cats, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a beautiful woman and many people sought her secret to youthful aging. She had a sharp memory and a gentle spirit. All were blessed to make her acquaintance and will probably remember being referred to as “my baby.”
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael Faulk.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Charlotte “Da Da” LaBove, wife of Paul “Ownself” LaBove, four grandchildren; Melanie “Tunie” Faulk Richard (Tommy), Carlotta “Tu Tu” LaBove Savoie (Zoe); Mia “Mi Mi” Faulk DuBois (Nic), and Michael “Mike-O” Faulk (Monique),; 11 great-grandchildren, Michael Savoie (Richard), Racissa Savoie, Thomas Richard,II (Hillary), Malorie Brabham (Jared), Luke Richard, John Henry Richard, Mary Camille Richard, Wyatt DuBois, Bella DuBois, Landon Faulk, and Sawyer Faulk; four great-great grandchildren, Jayson Clyde Savoie, Trip Richard, Levi Brabham, and Lily Brabham; along with her beloved cats, Smokey and Nancy.
Pallbearers include: Michael Savoie, Thomas Richard II, Luke Richard, John Henry Richard, Wyatt Dubois and Landon Faulk.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 1:45 p.m., with a Holy Rosary at 12 p.m. led by the Catholic Daughters Court St. Katharine Drexel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole, La.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cameron Parish Veterans Wall (140 Kjerulff Road, Bell City, LA 70603) or request Mass intentions in memory of Ruth “Tat” Faulk.
