Virginia “Tutut” Davis Wilson

Virginia Davis “Tutut” Wilson, 76, was born July 12, 1946, in New Iberia, La., to the late Louis and Mary Lee Chatman Davis Sr. She was a resident of Lake Charles, where she was a member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church. Virginia was a jack of all trades, namely, a seamstress to her younger siblings, awesome cook, and florist. She was also a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Wilson departed this life Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at 1:27 a.m. in her residence surrounded by her family.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Felicia (Gary) Joseph; two sons, Frederick French and Flint (Tonia) Davis; three sisters, Betty Robinson, Shirley (Roy) Brown, and Lenora Davis; brother, Joseph (Joshline) Davis; four grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Joshua Joseph, Jordan Joseph, and Gary Joseph Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Averi Arceneaux, Aurora Joseph and Domenic Joseph; two goddaughters she looked at as her own, Suzanne and Stacy Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Geraldine Davis; and brother, Louis Davis Jr.
Her visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, from 9 a.m. with her funeral following at 11 a.m. at True Light Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Alvin Noel will officiate. Burial will be in Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home.
